Photoshop Notes
PHOTOSHOP NOTES
1.) To
open an image in Photoshop, go to file, then open, and then find the image you
want.
2.) To
open an image is to go to click Command “O” to open a picture.
3.) To
open an image is to find the image you want, and then you can either left click
and drag it into Photoshop, or right click and then press Open With, and then
hit Photoshop.
4.) To
open multiple images, hold down your shift key and either drag them in or right
click and then press Open With. Hold down Command Key and Shift Key, to choose
different images separately.
Nestle – Tools are stacked on each other – to access those
tools you have to left click and hold.
USE THE COMMAND
KEYS
Command + = Zoom in
Command - = Zoom out
Command o = Open
Command c = Copy
Command v = Paste
Command z = Step Back
Command s = Save
Command p = Print
Adjustments:
>Image>Adjustments>Levels
Channel Blue
Channel Green
Channel Red
Move just the black and white Hershey kisses.
Channel RGB – Move just the gray Hershey’s kiss in the
middle (To make the image just a little lighter.)
Cropping:
Always crop your images to 300.
Resolution – For now do not crop selectively – Crop the
ENTIRE image.
To turn an image, go to
>Image>Image Rotation CW and CCW
CW = Clockwise
CCW = Counter Clockwise
180 = ½ Rotation
Save As – Rename your image!!!!! Make sure the image is
saved as a .jpg at the highest (Maximum) image quality.
Save – You do not have to rename the image at this point.
Save often and regularly.

Choice Sheets

The main publication class that i would most likely be interested in taking next year is Commercial Photography. I think the reason why i chose this over all the other choices is because i really want to learn more about cameras and photography. I also chose Commercial Photography because i am really interested photography and pictures.

Captions
Caption #1
Who- President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle Obama.
What- They are embracing each other.
Where- Airport, Washington D.C, Kennedy International Airport on the tarmac.
When- Monday, Nov. 17th at 11 a.m.
Why- They haven't seen each other in 3 weeks, because President Obama was on the campaign trail trying to get re-elected as President.
How- Passionately, with emotion.
Background- President obama tripped and fell on his way into the airport/terminal hard enough that the medical team nearby had to come out and help him.
Sentence 1- President Barack Obama embraces his wife Michelle at the Washington Dulles International Airport after returning home from his trip to Ohio where he was campaigning to become the 45th president of the United states.
Sentence 2- The President, while on his way to the terminal, tripped and fell requiring medical attention for a cut on his left cheek.
Caption Head- Stumbling his way to the Presidency

Who- South Korean singer Psy and his audience.
What- He is singing gleefully to everyone in his concert.
Where- He is an auditorium in Asia performing.
When- At 9:00 at night, on January 8th 2013.
Why- Because he needs money for another music video.
How- He asked to go to the auditorium and he asked to be on TV, and they said yes.
Background- Psy got anxious after his old song "Gangnam Style" got over 900 million views on Youtube, so he decided to have a concert to raise money for a new song and music video.
Sentence 1- Psy hosts an outstanding concert to make money for a new song and music video, after his old music video got over 900 million views on the popular video sharing site Youtube.
Sentence 2- Psy, happened to forget later that day that he was going to use the money for a music video, and ended up accidentally wasting it all.
Caption Head- Psy entertains fans and breaks music barriers

Who- Hurricane Sandy, and Ground Zero.
What- Hurricane Sandy causes a flood that destroys precious hard work at Ground Zero.
Where- New York.
When- November 1st, 2012.
Why- Because Hurricane Sandy blew in a lot of water.
How-A hurricane forms when hot tropical waters react with low atmospheric pressure.
Background- Ground Zero was almost done with the full reconstruction of the base, but workers had left early after hearing of an unbelievable Hurricane Sandy rumor.
Sentence 1- Hurricane Sandy causes a major and drastic flash flood that annihilated all of the hard work built by early leaving workers at Ground Zero.
Sentence 2- Workers later came back and fixed not only the base but whole building, getting over there hurdle of Hurricane Sandy.

Types of lenses - Telephoto (Allows you to zoom in closer to your subject). Prime (Does not zoom at all, it is fixed to a certain). Wide angle (Wide viewing angle).
Depth of Field (shallow and wide) - Whats in focus.
Light (angle and intensity) - Where is the light coming from, and the angle it comes in at plays a huge role in photography. The intensity of the light also plays a role. (How bright the light is.)
Shadows - (More light, more shadows.) Shadows are the absence of light. They also play a role in photography.
Diffusion - Changing/reducing the intensity of light.
Exposure - How the picture looks to our eyes. (Is it light? Dark? Somewhere in between?)
Aperture (f-stop) - Inside the lens, and its how big or small the opening is. (Controlled)
Shutter Speed - Inside the camera, how fast the mirror opens and closes. (Controlled)
ISO - The sensor inside the camera, how sensitive it is to light. (Controlled)
New Value of the photo is also important - news value terms include:
Timeliness - How many days away.
Proximity - How close it is to your location.
Conflict - Fighting/Arguing etc.
Human Intrest - How interesting it is to us.
